This hotel in the San Telmo area of Buenos Aires has a truly unique vibe. With its small boutique renovated mansion setting, it offers a swanky and stylish atmosphere that is both welcoming and comfortable. The attention to detail is evident in the well-kept rooms, which may be small in size but are tastefully designed with modern bathrooms and comfortable beds. The location is perfect for those who enjoy the arts district and nightlife of San Telmo, as well as the bohemian atmosphere that the area exudes. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, always ready to offer recommendations and assistance to ensure a pleasant stay. And let's not forget the included breakfast, which includes a variety of options such as fresh fruit, pastries, and cooked eggs. This hotel truly offers great value for money and is a fantastic choice for those visiting Buenos Aires.
All in all, our stay at this hotel was great and we couldn't find anything to fault.

The hotel is located in the charming San Telmo district, which is full of artsy and gritty vibes. There are cobblestone streets, interesting graffiti, and unique architectural touches that add to the bohemian atmosphere. It's the perfect location for exploring the city.
All in all, our stay at this hotel was perfect.

The hotel is in a busy and thriving district of the city [San Telmo], being just a few minutes from the main Buenos AIres centre itself - say 15 mins walk from Casa Rosada and the main shops on Florida. Flag down one of the stream of passing cabs, if you prefer, for $15-20 Argentine Peso's a time (about £3). The hotel itself has interesting decor, nice seating areas inc. an open courtyard in which to relax, a bar, loads of books & newspapers, free internet/wi-fi and is exactly the type of Argentine experience we wanted. The staff are so friendly and helpful with an excellent knowledge of the City both formal and informal - they are always available without being intrusive, and only too willing to help or just chat. Breakfasts are large, varied and all-inclusive, complimentary tea /coffee is availble on request (liberably and very willingly, in our experience). We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 seperate stays at Babel - using it as our base between seperate ventures to the South and West of Argentinaduring our overall stay. The hotel kindly guarded some of our luggage whilst we were away.........one of many nice gestures we enjoyed there.
San Telmo is very lively in the evening and this can mean street noise throughout the night - traffic, revellers, etc, so don't expect much peace and quiet in the bedrooms on the front of the hotel. However, this was not insurmountable and we found earplugs were the answer!

The staff was very personable and knowlegable about the city.
The room was very dirty - we found numerous hairballs on the floor and toilet and towels! Ugh and yuck. There were dustballs all over the floor in the courtyard (which was covered so it was not exposed to the outdoors) and the entry to our room. The bathroom was not very functional (I.E. nowhere to put toiletries, or even soap near the sink). Room was dark and sheets were torn; towels were frayed (not to mention, stained). This was supposed to be a superior room - what a joke. We ended up leaving and going to another (actual) boutique hotel that was clean!!

Located in a vibrant area, this hotel is a great base for exploring San Telmo. the hotel is near lots of shops and restaurants and so close to all the action. Subway stations are also easily accessible. Rooms are clean and comfortable, and the staff is excellent, offering great service and recommendations for dining and sightseeing. the breakfast is also a highlight, with fresh fruit, pastries, eggs, and coffee.
The rooms may not be suitable for those who require large and spacious accommodations.

A small boutique hotel in the San Telhmo neighborhood. Easy walk to the plaza de Mayo to see the famous Casa Rosada, Cathedral. It is only few blocks to the Purerto Madero where you can have a very nice walk along the canal. The hotel offers free Wi-Fi and a nice Mac computer for guests to use. The staff is courteous, helpful and speaking good English. Bed and pillows are very comfortable. The flat screen TV is good but no English speaking channel. Breakfast is included and can be arranged even early in the morning.
A minor problem with our safe in the room.

The staff could not have been more friendly, approachable and helpful. We assume that they are carefully hand-picked. They were certainly the best hotel staff we have met.

The hotel is located in the vibrant San Telmo area, which is perfect for exploring the nightlife and cultural attractions of Buenos Aires. The staff at this hotel are friendly and provide excellent service, going out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms are well-appointed and spacious, with some even featuring a small balcony, allowing guests to enjoy the city views.
The only drawback I noticed during my stay was that the heating in the rooms could be improved.

The staff were excellent and so helpful that we didn't need the tourist office. I liked that it was small and boutique. The location was perfect, so close to Defensia Ave and the San Telmo Square. Lots of wonderful cafes, bars and restaurants very close.
The rooms were a bit dark, but this was the nature of the builidng. The price for a single person was nearly same as for double.

Everybody at the reception was really loveable and helpful! Very nice young men speaking very good English and Portuguese too. The interior of the hotel is extremely charming, nothing like any other hotel I have ever been to.
No minibar in the room, but the reception people are available to serve drinks 24 hours per day, for very reasonable prices. If you don't know the city, don't just walk out and go to a random direction, you may quickly end up in pretty gloomy areas. Make sure you know where you are going or ask for precise directions.

During Christmas, my family and I enjoyed our stay in a budget hotel located in the heart of a busy area. The hotel staff was welcoming and informative. We were provided with details about the surrounding restaurants and tourist attractions. The location was fantastic for exploring the lively streets, and there were several food options nearby. Additionally, the rooms were well-equipped, clean, and comfortable.
One minor issue was the occasional insufficient hot water supply in the shower. This happened during our stay and was frustrating, especially on days we spent in the cold. However, we informed the staff, and they immediately addressed the issue and offered a complimentary meal at a nearby restaurant. Despite this minor inconvenience, we enjoyed our stay overall.

the location and design of the hotel. it's cosy and good for a one or two night stay.
there was no hot water when i had to take a shower at 6.00 am! and the pressure was ridiculous... i had to leave really early in the morning and the guy from the desk said they would arrange a quick breakfast for us but he forgot to tell the other guy...

Friendly efficient multilingual staff. Central location in trendy San Telmo. Free reliable wi-fi throughout. Good security & in room safe. Comfortable bed. Small boutique size.
This was my second stay at this hotel, but in contrast to my first visit I found my sleep disturbed by loud guests in the public areas of hotel & a great deal of street noise. I recommend requesting a room at the back of the hotel away from the street, bar & stairs.
